當我們漫步在台北街頭，不論是繁華的信義商圈，還是沒落的萬華舊城區，漫步著，觀察著，環繞在我們周邊行走的路人們似乎都長的不太一樣，有高的，有矮的，有胖的，有瘦的，有黃種人，有白人和黑人，這世界是多麼的不同，多麼的多元而豐富，而多元的背後隱藏的是，歧視，制度的歧視、社會的歧視比比皆是，因為在琳瑯滿目的世界裡，總有弱勢，然而弱勢就容易被人用異樣的眼光來看待，無論是老人、身心障礙者、原住民都是。
那我們今天要討論的究竟是哪種弱勢？
今天我們要討論到的是性/別上的弱勢，女性的平權不論在世界或是在台灣都已經推動有一段時日了，但有另一群龐大的性別弱勢，他們的平權正要起步。那就是同志(LGBT)，同性戀者已經是遠古時代的名稱了，現在這群弱勢已經不只是同性戀者了。
那究竟什麼是同志？什麼是同性戀者？
在了解同志之前，我們先來討論一下，我們對於這些群體的刻板印象，也就是我在標題中點出來的幾個部分，分別是『屁眼』、『陰道』、『解放』。『屁眼』也就是肛門，在多數男同性戀者的性中占有重要的角色，也是許多人對於同志的第一個刻板印象。『陰道』是產道，也是女性不論是任何性傾向在進行性行為時很重要的部位。『解放』意味著某些人事物從原本遭受束縛的狀態釋放出來，放在談同志這件事情來看，屁眼不應該被人類傳統束縛成為排出穢物的地方，我們也需要慢慢接受它成為許多人達成性逾越或性高潮的地方；同樣的，陰道也是，陰道不應該被過去主要性行為觀念所侷限，認為只有陰莖可以進入，而也需要接受它讓其他性玩具或手指等進入。而標題中的『直男』和『異女』指的是異性戀男女。
同志，是個廣泛的名詞，我們用全球最常使用來定義同志的分類來說明，通常國際媒體與聯合國通常使用LGBT來指稱同志族群，L(Lesbian)指的是女同性戀者，G(Gay)指的是男同性戀者，B(Bisexual)指的是雙性戀者，前三者是因為性傾向與多數人不同而形成的性少數，接著，最後一個類別是基於性別認同而形成的性少數，也就是T(Transgender)跨性別者，而跨性別這個分類其實包含了許多的性少數族群，像是：陰陽人(Intersex)，天生就擁有男女兩種性器官的人；扮裝者，一個人他不認同他身體所擁有的性器官(生理性別)，他所認同的是另一種性別，所以他把自己打扮成另一種性別，這應該很難懂吧，舉例來說，有個男生，他雖然擁有所有男生應該有的性器官，但他覺得他自己是女生，他不喜歡當男生，所以他開始把自己打扮成女生，但他也不想變性；變性人，其實跟前者一樣他不認同自己身上所具有的性器官，不同的是，他不只想要扮裝，他還想要透過各種方式變成另一種性別。
在這裡提到的這些性別弱勢，他們往往承受社會中許多的壓力與歧視，許多人因為不了解、陌生而對同志產生歧視甚至仇視，乃至於認為那是一種病態的呈現，但依據世界上許多精神醫學會(包括台灣)的認定，同志早就已經不是病了，是一種人類基因自然的呈現，然而在許多同志要求在社會上、法律上、政策上平等對待時，部分異性戀男女提出許多激烈的言論來醜化、貶低同志族群身為一個人在社會中最基本的存在，大眾應該要存有更包容且開放的心態來理解社會上不同人群的存在，不僅是同志，包括穆斯林、外勞(移工)、愛滋感染者、原住民等都一樣。
